Born in San Felipe Guanajuato Mexico, Chef began working in restaurants at the young age of 17. Following college, Chef worked at various restaurants, his last was Laurels a five star restaurant at Sheraton Hotel in Dallas. Chef left to open his first restaurant in 1997.
